Sorry to anyone who actually cares but I've kinda been running low on spare time to work on this blog 'o mine, so unfortunately Ive decided to go on hiatus from running the tavern. I may start blogging again sometime soon, its hard to say. But as I said at the moment i just haven't the time. Also commenting has been disabled temporarily due to annoying as fuck Asian spambots sexually assaulting my posts comments bar. Yeah, so over and out people, I hope to see you sometime in the near future.

Modest Mouse - This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About + The lonesome Crowded West
Dinosaur jr. - Farm+ Green Mind
-----------------------------
Wow, Ive really been enjoying Dinosaur Jr of late. I kinda wrote off this band due to being underwhelmed by their legendary album "Your Living All Over Me". But thanks to a most wicked album cover that I couldn't say no to, I gave them a much deserved 2nd chance. I love these guys for many reasons but the main one i that they are now the band i reach for when Im craving some slick, somehow uplifting tunes. Give them a shot, im sure you wont regret it.

Deathspell Omega - Manifestations 2002
Awsome album cover, check; Grim ass Mayhem inspired black metal sound, double check. And thats all Deathspell Omega needs to make a ball-kickin, redundancy depraved black metal compilation. What more do you fucking people want?!

Spawn Dark Ages - Entire Series
Download
Download CDisplay
Figured I'd spice up my pirating just a wee bit and upload the odd comic book here and there. Now, you can just view the pages like you would any jpg, bmp, pdf etc files but please, don't. There's a program that makes it so much easier it'd be full blown retarded to do so. Its called CDisplay and its liquid gold. The images fill your entire monitor and all you have to do to flip pages is scroll your mouse wheel. Anyway I haven't actually gotten past part 2 of this series of 28 yet so i can hardly comment on the books themselves, but i've been meaning to get into some spawn comics seeing as everybody raves about um. But I digress, download. read. enjoy.

Pop Punk
Yeah so I like Pop punk, watareyagonnadoaboutit?! Even If you could find me, unless your a rioded out russian boxer, i'd kick your sorry ass all the way back to cockyassmotherfuckerville!... sorry about that, I can tend to be a little defensive about liking powerpop. But seriously after a period of listening to people screaming about raping babies and eating bowels (yes the new cannibal corpse album wasn't half bad.) there is nothing like a nice steaming hot earful of rediculously happy music to satisfy that odd urge lingering in the back of my head.

80's randomega-post
I've recently developed a bit of a fling, so to say, for 80's new wave and early "post-punk". So of course, I am now going to try and force it upon others people just so I'll feel like less of a pariah. Oh and if anyone knows some other bands similar to the ones posted feel free to give me me a shout by responding to this article, id love to check out anything seeing as I am hardly well versed in this genre.

Echo And The Bunnymen - Heaven Up Here
---
Download

So good. Of this batch of music this is easily one of my personal favorites. If someone told me this was released this year I probably would believe them. But anyway, can't recommend this enough. The only other bands I hear (i know there are more, just harder to think of) in this are random whippets of Joy Division, Swans, and a little Bauhaus.
---
The Sound - From The Lion's Mouth
---
Download

Also a pretty cool band, and it too doesn't reek of makeup, lipstick and poofy hair like some others. Sounds alot like what would be called art-rock nowadays.

Magazine - Real Life

This is another gem I stumbled across on the web. Its a weird but very workable menagerie of Punk, New Wave, Prog Rock, and Ska(The Mr.bungle circus-like kind). The Punk Part is the weakest link in my book, but I've never really enjoyed punk too much anyway; plus the other genres fused in there more then make up for it. One second i'll be getting tired of a particular punky part and the next an epic prog-rock guitar solo will be erupting from the speakers or a Camel-ish synth line will pop out of nowhere and strangly enough, not seem out of place. Great stuff.

Visage - The Anvil
---
Download
Utter Synthpop. Not bad, most of the time its the cool synth lines that save songs from mediocracy, And sometimes edges on mainstream pop. Still worth a look, especially if your used to the whole 80's synthpop thing.
---
Sisters of Mercy - Some Girls Wander By Mistake
---
Download
This is a collection of early stuff by the sisters. Cool stuff, Kinda sounds like joy division 5 years after unknown pleasures if Ian Curtis was still around and they never made closer.
---
Talk Talk - Its My Life
---
Download
Great Synthpop; their last poppy album infact. This album is worth it for a some tracks here and there, at some point i'll upload their later post-rock albums as well...check this out in the meantime

Absence vaugely explained + New Mastodon Single and New Napalm Death
Yeah sorry about the rather long halt in production that has been going on here for anyone who cares enough to be pissed about my blogs absence, but these last 6 months or so have been rather hectic in my world. Also i'm now on my third new computer since I was previously posting due to many unfortunate, aggravating and illogical computer-ish and itunes/ipod fuck-ups. So many in fact that i've made the switch to Zune software and players to avoid having to figure them out. Anyway, I'll try to post more regularly from now on rather than never at all.

Mastodon - Divinations Single
---
Download
New Single by mastodon, off their forthcoming ablum "Crack The Skye". I don't know about you guys but this single is actually getting me excited about this release, Im still hoping the complete lack of screaming vocals is not going to be present on every track on the album. Could be crazy but chunks of this song sound like the mars volta quite alot to me. interesting.
---
Naplam Death - Time Waits for no Slave
---
Download
A Fucking awesome new release by Naplam Death. More in your face than Smear Campaign and with less filler to boot. If you like your Death metal catchy with a hefty sprinkle of grind this was made for you.

Head Control System - Murder Nature
Download(fixed)
Kristoffer Rygg of Ulver, and some other Portuguese dude I've never heard of before come together for HCS's first release, Murder Nature. They manage to create pretty unique sound on this release, most importantly Kristoffer's vocals manage to not sound like they're straight from a chapter in Ulvers history, while still retaining their usual level of greatness. If I had to compare HCS's sound to other bands I would say that they sound kinda like poppy Meshuggah mixed with some Tool and A perfect Circle. If your looking for somethin completely different, look no further.

Bloodbath - Unblessing the Purity EP
Download
Say goodbye to the confused and irrenivent Hypocricy/Edge of sanity clone bloodbath found on "Nightmares Made Flesh", And say hello to the new and improved. Åkerfeldt is back on vocals, and Swano has been given the boot. Bloodbath has never before sounded this entertaining to my Aural Cavities.
