My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

I've Been laying the Metal on pretty thick as of late so I thought I'd change it up a bit with this. I must confess that "Loveless" is as unique and original experience as it is hyped up to be. The easiest way to describe "loveless" to someone who hasn't heard it already is by comparing it to early Nine Inch Nails (Thought that the second I pressed play.), the song "Cupid De Locke" By The Smashing pumpkins (Came to that conclusion after listening to "To Here Knows When"). And Sigur Ros; mainly because of the soft, wispy vocals. Those were the first and only comparisons I've been able to draw up. "Lifeless" is heavy on the distortion, reeeal heavy on the distortion. This helps blur the albums tracks together and tie the whole album together as a composition. You'd think that excessive amounts of distortion would make for a grimy production value, and it kind of does....kind of. There's no denying that the sound quality sounds fuzzy and muffled, but honestly I wouldn't want "Loveless" to sound any other way, it really adds to the beauty of the album. Passages with Seemingly random notes blur together with main passages and merge with softly sung vocals to create a thick Serene layer of sound, one of which I have never heard the likes of before.

Nocturnal had some amazing moments, but Miasma still remains my favorite Album so far by The Black Dahlia Murder. lets see if Unhallowed will beat it though....*an hour later*... nope

High on Fire - Death is This Communion

One of the few bands that bridge the gap between Stoner metal and Thrash. High on Fire is fast but not too fast, and has a definite Stoner metal vibe without being monotonous. The Vocals Fall somewhere Between Motorhead's Lemmy and Mastodon's Troy, mixed with a slight dash of pissed off hillbilly. The Guitars are thick and heavy, like an extra thick milkshake in the dead of winter... also sounding like older Mastodon, but less frantic/spastic. If you like a good groove to your metal click that there download button up there, (ONLY ONCE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD) and have yourself a happy September the twenty third.

Twenty Sixty Six And Then - Reflections!

An old German Prog Rock band from the early 70's that really only released this album then vanished. They sound a lot like the Doors but with more of a variation between prog and soul/blues rock. They're actually surprisingly good considering they mix prog(based on advancement and change) and blues rock(based on old ass gospel music) while managing to stay somewhere between the two genres rather then settle in a little niche farther in on one side. Reflections! also manages to stay quite fresh and new despite the fact 2066 are basically a random band from back in the seventies. But anyway, the comparison between the Doors is essentially inescapable, so if ya dig the Doors chances are you'll dig this.

Pink Floyd - The Complete Zabriskie Point Sessions

Soundtrack to an old movie, with music done by pink floyd. Not really anything necessary, but its a nice little treat for fans of pink floyd who have already listened to their discography inside and out. Most of the songs here are either acoustic songs or sound scapes, but it still has that definite pink floyd sound. The songs on here are pretty good, with the exception of the last few minutes of Fingals cave (take one), which contains some of the most awkward sounding sex related grunts/sounds/talking I can possibly imagine. (honestly what kind of a weirdo dramatically whispers "Penetration!"??? Oh, and it also sounds like its a guy banging his grandma due to the yelling at 5:40)
