jesu - Silver (Japanese edition)

jesu - Silver
Beautiful stuff here from JK broadrick of Napalm Death, and Godflesh fame. Don't get this expecting it to sound anything like Broadrick's previous bands, this is poppy, dronish shoegaze. and its also fucking amazingly relaxing and serene. Give it a shot.

Wolves In The Throne Room - Diadem of 12 Stars
More good black metal, pretty simmilar to drudkh actually. Dont know why but this reminds me of Opeth.

Drudkh - Autumn Aurora

Download

Drudkh - Autumn Aurora
Folky Black metal with a tinge of ambience. While the vocals are very conservative or "kvlt"(ugh) for black metal, thats about the only thing that fits the stereotypical black metal album requirements. Autumn Aurora seaps atmosphere from every track, each one being memorable and unique. Ive kind of grown out of most black metal, so there are few black metal bands I enjoy to this day, but Drudkh still remains one of those few.

Ratatat - Classics

Ratatat - Classics
Great album here, one that I've been meaning to purchase for quite some time actually. Ratatat uses Metallic/Hard Rockin Riffs as the backbone of their sound and mixes in some Electronic and Hip Hop-ish Beats into the cookin' pot. Classics is laden with synthesized beauty, full of interesting and/or sweaty guitar riffs, generally very bass heavy, and lets not forget....undeniably glorious.

Baroness - 1st and 2nd

Amazing stuff from a band I just found out about literally 5 minutes ago. Its heavy, but not awkward or boring. Riff driven sludge metal somewhat similar to the likes of Mastodon, Neurosis. Seriously though, this is good shit. Download it. Then Buy it if you ever see.

Oh and check out the song "The Birthing" on their Myspace account, its got some amazing clean vocals and more yummy riffs.

Wolf Eyes - Human Animal

Who likes weird music? Anyone?, Come on I know some of you do. Well I sure as hell do, and this is probably the epitamy of odd, dark, and gloomy. With Crazy screaming, uncomprehensible mumbling/shouting Wolf eyes brings us Human animal. Now I know some of you internet people out there are a little leery of strange music, to you I say; give it a try, its free! And to you whom may refuse to do so...well I have just the thing to help open up your closed minds:

Waiting for the Night....

Ah yes, this trip to Toronto is proving most fruitful. Ive already managed to spend about $300 on Music, Books, T-shirts, and cigarettes(in that order). But I haven't really gotten to fly off the handle when it comes to CD purchasing. Due to needing to survive for 3 weeks back at home without pay, it looks like I will doubtably be able to. But thats alright, Ill still paint all my regular underground music haunts in town red with emo poser blood. Yes! beware the dark alleys past midnight you little emo goth band faggy geeks, for tonight Derk-a-lerk's in town and he comes with enough disposible schick razor blades for everyone! oh and before i go on some usless and unfunny rant, heres a list of all the goodies ill be bringing back home to my computer for all my fellow pirates to mooch(Aug 4):

GODFLESH: Cold World, Merciless, Godflesh, and Selfless
DEVIN TOWNSEND: Devlab
THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES: The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home
PIG DESTROYER: Phantom Limb
AND MUCH MORE

Behemoth - The Apostasy

Behemoth - The Apostasy
Say goodbye to the annoying voice layering that was done on Demigod, and say hello to one of the most beautiful(in a death metal way, of course), out of control drum sound ever. The Apostasy is probably the only new death metal album Ive enjoyed for about 2 years or so.
